Currently, Zeeba Ansari is running three poetry groups for Cornwall Library Service, two in Penzance and one in Truro, which meet monthly.

The first was launched in Penzance in February 2003 as a pilot poetry reading initiative. Because of its success, another group was started in Penzance, followed by a group in Truro. The groups are for anyone with an interest in poetry; the aim is to introduce people to a range of different poets, and to discuss their work informally and enjoyably. Many of the participants write poetry; each month Zeeba suggests a different (optional) theme to write on. Participants bring their work to the group to share and discuss it, although it's not necessary to write poetry to come along.

The Penzance groups meet at Trevelyan House in Chapel Street. The first group meets on the first Monday of each month, between 12.30 and 2.30, and the second meets on the third Thursday of each month between 10.00 and 12.00. There's a nominal charge of £1.50 for room hire. The Truro group meets in Truro Library between 2.30 and 4.30 on the second Thursday of each month.

For further information contact Zeeba Ansari.
